ElderLogic grew out of years of hands-on experience in senior care placement.

When Terrah Shaw took over operations for her husband Jon’s senior care placement business, she quickly saw how difficult the work was to manage with the tools available.

Critical information was scattered across different sources. Care home data changed constantly. Searches required extensive manual work. Outreach was difficult to track. Regulatory information lived in separate systems. Important details were spread across spreadsheets, disconnected software, individual records, and manual processes.

The problem wasn’t the work itself.

It was the way the work had to be done.

Terrah began rebuilding the operational systems behind the business: first by creating better processes, organizing the information, and connecting the pieces that already existed.

Then she started writing software.

She designed and developed tools around the actual work happening every day: searching for care homes, managing facility information, conducting outreach, tracking responses, reviewing regulatory information, preparing placement options, and keeping the process organized from beginning to end.

Each new tool solved another problem she had encountered firsthand.

The difference was immediate. Work that once required searching across multiple sources, manually tracking information, and piecing together what had already happened became faster, clearer, and far more efficient.

For Jon, that meant spending less time managing the mechanics of the process and more time doing the part of the work that technology can’t replace: talking with families, understanding what they need, building relationships, and helping people through difficult decisions.

Over the next several years, those tools became increasingly connected and sophisticated. What began as a way to make their placement business operate better grew into a comprehensive technology platform built around how senior care placement actually works.

That platform became ElderLogic.

The goal remains the same as it was from the beginning: let technology handle more of the administrative work so people have more time for the work that actually requires a person.
